Christmas Presents?????? This year why not give the gift of Memories!

As someone wise said there are 12 days of Christmas and none of them are in November, so apologies for this early BLOG, however I wanted to share this with you.

After living in Wales for nearly 2 years I have come to appreciate the more laid-back pace of life and the opportunity to stop and treasure experiences and memories. The giving of gifts has long been a tradition of Christmas and I love the gesture of acquiring, preparing, and bestowing something of value to friends and family (especially when you get it just right). But if you are anything like us we struggle to find something that the other person wants and hasn’t already bought themselves.

That’s why we have decided to buy each other memories. By this I mean we are going to buy or organise something we can do together, rather than material gifts. Plus this way you get the excitement of opening the gift on Christmas day, the excitement of the actual activity and then the enjoyment of reminiscing the experience. It really is the gift that keeps giving – so what is not to like?

One idea is to pool your money and buy a break or holiday away. We love doing this in December before Christmas to get into the festive spirit or in January to break up the Christmas winter lull.
